Feeding / Lactation Therapy

Feeding is more than swallowing—it’s a complex skill that involves coordination, oral motor development, sensory processing, and comfort.

At Lifespan Therapy, our feeding and lactation services focus on helping infants and children learn how to eat efficiently and confidently, not just safely. We support challenges such as difficulty latching, poor milk transfer, limited food variety, picky eating, gagging with textures, and inefficient chewing patterns.

Unlike dysphagia therapy, which addresses medical swallowing disorders and airway safety, our approach targets the skills behind feeding—including tongue function, oral strength, coordination, and progression through developmental feeding stages.

We work closely with families to build practical, real-life strategies that improve feeding at home, reduce stress at mealtimes, and support long-term growth and development.
